HAPPENINGS OFF THE BLOG
Hi, everyone! Is anyone else looking forward to a week where nothing of note happens? I started off the year thinking things were looking up and it's already a mess. Anyone else's anxiety through the roof again? No? Just me? I feel like I'm counting down the days until I can breathe again. At least I have books to escape into!
I'm still slowly making my way through The Blade Itself so this week I only finished a couple audiobooks, which were both very outside my normal reading comfort zone. The mood struck for romance and then non-fiction. Now I'm listening to a non-fiction book about Mount Everest. What even is happening?? I did get some graphic novels by Der-shing Helmer that look SO good! I've already started one of them, but it's honestly taking some brain power to process and I'm running low on that so I'm taking my time.
On the mental health and self care front, I've decided to stop pushing myself so hard to run and just focus on moving every day. I have a tendency to just not do something if I think I might fail at it so instead of running I've been procrastinating and hardly going once a week. Anyone else have this problem? I'm going to sign up for a few virtual races this year, but I'm not going to pressure myself outside of those. After 2020 I feel like we just have to be kind to ourselves!
