Welcome back to another week of Down the TBR Hole, where each week I dive into the really embarrassing and strange books I thought I wanted to read five years ago. This week I'm looking at some really disturbing horror books that definitely show what kind of a reading mood I was in at the time (with a little Disney thrown in, obviously).
The Down the TBR Hole meme was started by Lost In a Story and it is the most perfect tool for cleaning off shelves that I've come across. Here's how it works:

THE BOOKS
THE WELL BY PETER LABROW
Well, that's a creepy cover! I don't know how I found this book, but I can tell from the synopsis why I added it. It sounds pretty scary, although I'm not sure how badly I want to read a story involving a man who's predatory towards young girls... It's just a small part of the blurb, but it sounds pretty gross. VERDICT: PASS
MOUSETRAPPED BY CATHERINE RYAN HOWARD
I added this one when I was going through a bit of a Disney binge. I loved the idea of a book written by a girl who moved from Ireland to work at Disney for a year. Mousetrapped has mixed reviews, because it isn't ONLY about her time at Disney, but includes her experiences living in Orlando, but as someone who moved to Orlando from a small(ish) town, I think it sounds awesome! VERDICT: KEEP
DECK Z BY CHRIS PAULS & MATT SOLOMON
Here's a book that I actually owned for awhile, but never got around to reading. I'm not actually sure where it went, to be honest... My husband actually read Deck Z and found it to be a little too ridiculous and juvenile. I basically just took his word for it and lost interest. Anyway, I'm pretty much past any enjoyment of zombies. VERDICT: PASS
SEASONS OF INSANITY BY GILL AINSWORTH & FRANK W. HAUBOLD
You know what I've never had luck with? Short story anthologies. I can name one that I've read completely and another one that I read about half of, but never finished. I'm not sure why, but I've just never been compelled to read them. To be honest, the beginning of the synopsis is about a girl's teddy bear becoming her lover, so I'm going no nope this one right off the list. VERDICT: PASS
THE MURMURINGS BY CARLY ANNE WEST
Another horror book! But this one is YA and it actually sounds like something I'd read. The reviews seem to agree that it's more of a very creepy mystery than an actual horror book, but I've been in the mystery mood and Halloween is coming up! It could be good. VERDICT: KEEP
Another three bite the dust! I'm honestly not sure what I was going through when I added the books I went through in the last two weeks, but it's fair to say that my reading preferences have changed quite a bit. I can't wait to see what I find next week! :/ I do still love horror books, but most of these just seem... yikes.
