Saturday Screen Time #17: Shhh

This week was much slower than the last one, with only two movies watched! I actually liked them the exact opposite amount of most people who rated them, hating the one I was supposed to love and loving the one I was supposed to hate. What can I say? I try to keep it interesting.

THIS WEEK IN SCREEN TIME

A Quiet Place - I have heard SO MUCH about how terrifying this movie is! "Scariest horror film in years," they said! I knew going in not to get anything to eat or drink because the theater would be silent and luckily the theater was almost empty. I was fully prepared to be scared, but this turned out to be just kind of creepy. Really, I wanted to know more about the world and how it got that way! But honestly, once the mom was revealed to be pregnant (at 400+ days into the apocalypse - not a spoiler by the way, she's pregnant in the trailers), I just couldn't bring myself to care about the characters anymore. Head's up: in a world where noise-seeking monsters will kill anything that makes a peep, MAYBE DON'T HAVE A BABY, especially with other kids to keep safe. Just my two cents! (2.5/5 stars)

Permission - I've been waiting to get my hands on a copy of this movie for months, despite its low rating. Honestly, I came to watch Dan Stevens and I was not disappointed. I thought the movie had a really interesting premise and felt super invested in the characters and their relationship. Even the minor characters won me over! I understand why a lot of people hated this movie, but I really enjoyed it. Really though, I'd watch Dan Stevens watch paint dry. (4/5 stars)

Have you seen either of these? What did you think?
